As prosecutions ramp up their technology and methods to secure convictions in driving while intoxicated (DWI), drug crimes, and various other criminal cases, so must criminal defense attorneys make conscious efforts to improve their own practices and abilities. Hidalgo County Defense Attorney Rene A. Flores of The Law Office of Rene A. Flores PLLC recently went above and beyond for his clients by completing his American Chemical Society-Chemistry and Law (ACS-CHAL) Forensic Lawyer-Scientist certification. He is currently the only DWI defense attorney in the greater Hidalgo County valley with this accreditation.
In order to become certified as an ACS-CHAL Forensic Lawyer-Scientist, an attorney must complete a notoriously difficult and rigorous forensic chromatography course. After the classes end, an examination of even greater difficulty is administered. High grades are required for passing and certification.
In addition to earning his certification as a Forensic Lawyer-Scientist, Attorney Flores plays an active role in his communities and the legal settings of South Texas. He is a proud member of the DUI Defense Lawyers Association, Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, and several other such groups.
